About me
I am a climate researcher interested in the politics of climate action, particularly questions of finance, justice and equity, with a focus on Africa. I am currently a Senior Research Fellow based at the Smith School of Enterprise and the Environment at the University of Oxford, where I lead research on the politics of net zero transitions in Africa. My work bridges research, policy and practice, drawing on over 15 years of experience in climate change and development across countries in Africa.
Some of my notable accomplishments are serving as a Lead Author for IPCC’s 7th Assessment Report Chapter 7 (on Finance) of Working Group 3 (on Mitigation of Climate Change). In 2022, I was also appointed by the United Nations Secretary General as a member of the United Nations High Level Expert Group (UNHLEG) on the Net Zero commitments of non-state actors where we developed a widely adopted set of principles for how non-state actors can demonstrate integrity of their net zero commitments.
